A Call To Care for Women: Legacy & New Beginnings

Three Wichita-Born Physicians Return Home to Advance Women’s Health

Wichita, KS — On Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2–5 PM, the community will gather at The Fairmount Venue (1655 N. Fairmount, Wichita, KS 67208) for an afternoon of inspiration, impact, and celebration. The event, hosted by Felicia Rolfe, Morning Anchor at Channel 12 News Wichita, will honor Dr. Arthur DeHart, a beloved OB/GYN who dedicated 40 years to women’s health in Wichita.

The event will also feature a fireside chat with three Wichita-born physicians who have returned home to carry on his legacy: Dr. Maya (Rolfe) Dominique, founder of Prenatal Well in Northwest Indiana; Dr. Courtney Tafesse, a full-time locum tenens OB/GYN practicing across the U.S.; and Dr. Jaleen Sims, an OB/GYN practicing in Jackson, Mississippi. Together, they’ll discuss women’s health, access to care, and the power of community and legacy in medicine.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and the opportunity to contribute to the evening’s fundraising goal of $20,000. All proceeds will support Prenatal Well, a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Dominique and her husband, attorney Otis Dominique, which provides free clinical and prenatal support services to underserved women through its Early Connect Program.

“Returning home to honor Dr. DeHart and continue his work of compassion and care feels like coming full circle,” said Dr. Dominique. “This event is about legacy, love, and ensuring every woman has access to care and community.”
